The post holder will offer general assistance to the practice clinical team, liaising closely with the Practice Nurse across Northfield Surgery and Field Road Surgery.
The post holder must hold a Health and Social Care Qualification such as the Care Certificate or NVQ Level 2 or 3. They should work well within teams, be organized, able to prioritize tasks, and willing to learn.
Main duties of the job
The HCA will be involved primarily in:
* Assisting in the provision of a phlebotomy service
* Managing laboratory samples for the Practice
* Undertaking well person checks
* Performing urinalysis
* Recording ECGs
* Cleaning and sterilising instruments and equipment
* Maintaining equipment, including recording external checks such as calibration
* Recording refrigerator temperatures daily
* Ordering and re-stocking clinical supplies
The HCA will also be responsible for:
* Documenting patient consultations in the clinical system
* Maintaining records to ensure continuity and quality of care
* Participating in Practice development and service changes as needed
* Handling administrative duties like appointment and financial record keeping
* Maintaining current skills and undertaking necessary training
* Participating in activities required by CQC registration
