Location: Tresham College – Corby and Wellingborough campuses
Salary & Benefits: £33,048 – £38,169 per annum (DOE and qualifications). 45 days annual leave plus bank holidays, teacher’s pension, retail and leisure discounts, professional development and access to college courses (Note – the figures apply to a qualified lecturer).
Hours / Weeks: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role
We are currently seeking a Lecturer/Trainee Lecturer in Electrical Installations to join our Construction department at The Bedford College Group.
* Curriculum Leadership & Delivery – Plan, develop and deliver a relevant, up‑to‑date curriculum across Electrical Installation, Building Services and Gas, ensuring strong progression and employability outcomes.
* Teaching, Learning & Assessment – Deliver engaging, practical and differentiated teaching, assess learner performance accurately, provide constructive feedback and maintain high standards in line with awarding body requirements.
* Learner Management & Support – Monitor attendance, progress and behaviour, provide pastoral support, manage conduct appropriately and ensure learners remain safe, motivated and supported.
* Quality, Compliance & Administration – Maintain accurate records, complete administrative duties, contribute to course development and quality improvement, liaise with awarding bodies and comply with college procedures and funding requirements.
* Professional Practice & Safeguarding – Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity and health & safety standards, engage in continuous professional development, collaborate with colleagues and represent the college professionally.
About you
* Qualifications & Professional Development – Hold a Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installations (or equivalent), GCSE English and maths (or willingness to achieve Level 2), with commitment to gaining teaching, TAQA and Cert‑Ed qualifications.
* Industry Expertise & Technical Knowledge – Up‑to‑date vocational skills and industry experience in electrical installations, with strong knowledge of current technologies, quality assurance systems and health & safety practice.
* Teaching, Delivery & Learner Engagement – Ability to teach across learner levels and related vocational areas, using varied teaching approaches to motivate, inspire and support learner success.
* Professional Skills & Teamwork – Strong communication, organisation and time‑management skills, reflective practitioner, committed team player and motivated by positive learner outcomes.
* Values, Safeguarding & Flexibility – Commitment to continuous professional development, safeguarding, professional boundaries and health & safety, with a flexible approach to work patterns and willingness to work across college locations.
