Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. The Community College Workforce Alliance (CCWA)’s primary mission is to provide quality workforce training solutions to the greater Richmond Region. The Assistant Coordinator/Instructor, Manufacturing and Logistics Programs will coordinate and facilitate non-credit certification training programs in manufacturing, logistics, and trades for entry to mid-level positions, which align to priority certifications. This individual will become certified to teach MSSC, MSI, and other aligned manufacturing and logistics certifications, such as the MT1, CLT, Lean, Safety, and PharmaMT certifications. The Assistant Coordinator/Instructor of Technical Programs will facilitate instruction between the colleges, businesses and community/workforce partner’s locations. Additionally, this position will develop curriculum, perform quality controls checks of the curriculum, maintain lab and equipment, track and report class data, control class curriculum, and be available for employer meetings to act as the subject matter expert for the curriculum. The Assistant Coordinator will also be responsible for onboarding, evaluating and mentoring adjunct instructors. Special Assignments

KSA's/Required Qualifications Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, with a minimum of two (2) years of related occupational experience required. Considerable knowledge of training and development for entry to mid-level positions within the Richmond region’s manufacturing, logistics, and trades industries. Knowledge of adult training methods, curriculum design and development, and evaluation methodology. Demonstrated ability to facilitate customized certification training programs to targeted industries. Demonstrated ability to teach in a technical laboratory, classroom, and in online formats. Demonstrated ability to train other instructors in classroom management and instruction. Demonstrated ability to organize, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks and maintain accurate records. Demonstrated ability to complete projects and assignments independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a diverse population of training participants, faculty, staff, and business and community partners. Demonstrated ability to conduct professional presentations to employers and workforce partners. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer utilizing current software programs. Additional Considerations MT1, CLT, Lean, and OSHA Certifications. Current or recent experience as a trainer for a higher education program in manufacturing, logistics and/or trades. Work experience in a manufacturing or logistics settings with direct experience operations or maintenance of a facility.
