Sheridan Maine is working exclusively with a fast-growing, multi-site organisation to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic finance team in a senior leadership role, managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash operations across a growing group.
This role would suit an AP Manager, Accounts Payable Team Leader or Senior Accounts Payable Supervisor, with strong systems experience, particularly Xero, who enjoys leading teams, improving processes, and supporting business growth.

Location: Remote first with occasional UK travel - UK based candidates only

The Role:
As Accounts Payable Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash functions, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial processing across multiple business units.

Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading and managing remote finance teams across multiple UK sites
2. Full ownership of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash processing
3. Managing supplier payments, payment runs, and bank reconciliations
4. Overseeing aged creditor and debtor reporting
5. Supporting month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and group reporting
6. Managing financial transactions using Xero accounting software
7. Supporting finance integration for newly acquired businesses
8. Driving process improvement, automation, and financial controls
9. Producing accurate cash flow forecasting and bank reporting
10. Developing finance procedures, controls, and best practice processes
11. Supporting audit processes and maintaining strong audit trails

About You, Skills & Experience:
12. AAT qualification or equivalent practical experience
13. Proven experience in an Accounts Payable Manager, AP Manager, or Finance Operations Manager role
14. Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Cash management
15. Experience managing AP teams or finance processing teams, ideally in a multi-site environment
16. Experience using Xero accounting software along with strong Excel skills
17. Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth businesses
18. Confident leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
19. Strong attention to detail, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
20. Comfortable managing remote teams and working across multiple locations
