We are working with a well-established supply chain specialist to recruit a Transport Planner to work permanently, on a 4 on/off working pattern. The salary would be commensurate with experience.

About the role:
Undertake the daily planning for 25-30 vehicles, which involves meeting timed deliveries as required by customers and finding suitable UK reloads.
Liaising with the drivers throughout the day and monitoring their progress to ensure they complete required work in the required timescales.
Communicating effectively with customers to keep them informed on delivery progress.
Organising planning of vehicle availability for vehicle service schedule and maintenance/repairs of vehicles and trailers, such as creating schedules and monitoring associated costs.
Reviewing practices to ensure that transport is utilised using the most cost-effective solution Using third party hauliers to cover loads beyond capacity of fleet.
Have an awareness of industry compliance and relevant legislation.
Answering any incoming phone calls and dealing with them in the appropriate way.
Carry out any other tasks required to keep the transport office and vehicles/drivers running.
Learning other roles within the business to assist in the future development.Required experience:
Managers CPC Qualification is an advantage but not essential.
Knowledge of driver's hours/working time directive regulations.
Transport planning experience within a temperature-controlled environment.
3 years minimum experience of working within the UK transport industry with good geographical knowledge of the UK would also be beneficial.
You must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office / Excel.Please note this position is only suitable for candidates who are already able to live and work in the UK without restriction. No relocations please.
