Protocol Education are working with an ambitious and growing South Bristol secondary academy to appoint a Teacher of Design Technology (QTS required) starting in September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new and developing school that opened recently and is growing year by year. The academy currently serves Key Stage 3 and will continue expanding as new year groups join, creating a unique opportunity for teachers who want to help shape a school’s culture, curriculum and future success.

The school welcomes applications from ECTs and experienced teachers who are passionate about design, creativity and inspiring young people.





The School

This South Bristol academy opened in 2023 and is building a vibrant learning community that will eventually serve around 900 students aged 11–16.

The school has a strong focus on high expectations, character development and inclusive education, ensuring every student is supported to reach their full potential both academically and personally.

About the Role

As a Design Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging and practical lessons that inspire creativity, problem-solving and technical skills.

You will work as part of a supportive team to help build an exciting DT curriculum that supports student development and academic progress.

Your responsibilities will include:

️ Teaching Design Technology across Key Stage 3 and future cohorts
Planning and delivering engaging, practical lessons
Encouraging creativity, innovation and problem-solving skills
Building strong relationships with students to support their progress
Monitoring progress and supporting students to achieve their potential

As the school grows, there will also be opportunities for teachers to develop leadership responsibilities and contribute to shaping the department.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
