REPORTING TO: Project Manager
DIVISION: Building South
CONTRACT: Fixed Term (Initial 12 months), Full time (39 hrs p/w)
LOCATION: New Children's Hospital, Belfast
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cleaning Operative to maintain high standards on our busy construction site, ensuring site offices and welfare units are thoroughly cleaned and kept tidy. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work independently, and knowledgeable about health and safety requirements. Previous practical experience in cleaning is essential. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential for extension. Flexible start and finish times will be discussed.
Job Description
Overview of Duties:
* Maintain cleanliness of site office, toilets, and welfare units by vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping.
* Clean surfaces using various methods including sweeping, suction cleaning, mopping, buffing, spraying, machine scrubbing, and polishing.
* Ensure waste is disposed of correctly at designated collection points.
* Clean all sanitary facilities and replenish supplies such as toilet rolls, soap, and towels.
* Adhere to health and safety guidelines.
* Use and care for cleaning equipment responsibly.
* Report maintenance or repair issues.
* Complete necessary paperwork.

Person Specification
Technical Competencies:
* Previous experience in a similar cleaning role.
* Understanding of health and safety requirements related to cleaning products and appliances.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Desirable: Knowledge of a construction environment.
