Position Purpose
The main responsibility of this role is to contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the Biosystems plant, focusing on the receipt, emptying, and cleaning of reusable sharps containers, preparing these for dispatch and reuse, along with Biosystems hardware, ensuring prompt dispatch and equipment safety to prevent damage.
Key Job Activities
1. Operate the Biosystems Wash line and Autoclave Plant efficiently, meeting KPI targets.
2. Ensure waste containers, transport, and roll cages are emptied, cleaned thoroughly, and stored properly for collection.
3. Manage receipt and dispatch of waste containers, transporters, and roll cages, ensuring safe vehicle loading/unloading.
4. Maintain operational records, such as shift reports, BMS data entry, and productivity reports, following internal policies.
5. Assist with breakdown/defect repairs, supporting maintenance engineers to minimize plant downtime.
6. Conduct shift inspections, including safety observations and reporting.
7. Review previous shift handover, plan resources, and complete handover reports and KPI reports.
8. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safe working areas during each shift.
Minimum Education & Experience
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* 0-1 years of experience; basic knowledge preferred.
* Certifications/licenses preferred: COSHH, IOSH, Forklift, Confined Space, and others related to safety and environmental standards.
Skills & Requirements
* Ability to work independently while maintaining safety and compliance standards.
* Ability to lift and move sharps containers.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Attention to detail, manual handling skills, potential use of vibrating equipment and hazardous substances, handling clinical waste, and operating forklifts or vehicle lifts if trained.
