Salary
Up to £53,200 FTE DOE plus £3,000 Welcome Bonus (one payment of £1,500 after completion of one month and a second payment after the final probation period).
Hours
37.5 hours per week, 8:30am - 4:30pm (part-time hours may be considered).
Contract
Permanent (term time only; flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed).
Essential Criteria
* Degree or masters in Speech and Language Therapy
* HCPC registered, and registered with the RCSLT
* Minimum 2 years experience
* Some relevant experience engaging and working with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles
* Some knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice
* Some experience of multi-disciplinary working in a range of settings
* Experience of communicating with or working with families/relatives and carers
* Interest in developing knowledge and skills in different areas of SaLT practice
* Good relationship building, analytical and judgmental skills
* Good communication skills (oral and written)
* Good time management and organisational skills
* Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and clear understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
* Knowledge of different SaLT assessment tools, types of intervention and how to formulate support plans based on needs profile
* Knowledge of legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management in relation to the client group
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of the multi-disciplinary team
* Willingness to attend training and work towards further qualifications relevant to the client group
* Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
Desirable Criteria
* Understanding of other differences (sensory and motor) that may impact an individual's communication strengths, differences, traits, difficulties and needs profile
* Understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication
Responsibilities
Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. Hold a caseload with the support of a clinical supervisor and site lead, contribute to staff training and consultation, and maintain a person-centred, empowering approach while working within the standards of the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working.
