An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the UK Life Reporting team as an Assistant Accountant. You will be responsible for supporting the team in delivering its quarterly and annual financial reporting responsibilities under IFRS and Local Statutory. As part of the role, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of internal and external financial information to ensure financial performance, compliance, and customer satisfaction. You will play a vital role in helping the department achieve its operational objectives and deliver high-quality service. What will you be doing?
1. Preparation and review of key reports during quarter and year-end periods to support IFRS reporting requirements and commentary.
2. Analysis and oversight of SAP ledgers, supporting intercompany balance queries, cash management, and journal entries.
3. Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts and year-end audits.
4. Challenge and improve existing processes.
5. Provide support to the broader team as needed.
Candidate requirements:
* Studying towards an accounting qualification.
* Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas; experience with PowerQuery is an advantage.
* Excellent time and task management skills.
* Strong communication skills.
* Enthusiastic, curious, quick learner with a can-do attitude.
* Problem-solving skills and agility.
* Knowledge of financial systems and business platforms; SAP experience is an advantage.
