About the Role:
The Wiggett Group is seeking a skilled and experienced
Security Engineer
to oversee planned works, repairs, maintenance, and reactive works for security systems across our social housing contracts. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our properties by installing, servicing, and maintaining security systems, including
intercoms, access control, CCTV, and intruder alarms
.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out
planned installation, maintenance, and repair
of security systems, including intercoms, access control, Door Entry Systems, and CCTV.
* Diagnose and rectify
faults
in security systems as part of reactive maintenance.
* Respond to emergency call-outs to
troubleshoot and repair
faulty security equipment.
* Ensure all works comply with
current industry regulations and health & safety standards
.
* Conduct
system testing and commissioning
following installation or repairs.
* Provide
technical advice
and support to clients and colleagues.
* Maintain
accurate records and reports
on completed works.
* Work closely with other engineers and site teams to
coordinate work schedules
effectively.
* Stay updated on new security technologies and industry best practices.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a
Security Engineer
, with expertise in intercoms, access control, Door Entry Systems, and CCTV.
* Strong background in
fault-finding, reactive repairs, and installation
.
* Knowledge of industry regulations and health & safety standards.
* Ability to work
independently and as part of a team
.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and
attention to detail
.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* A valid
UK driving license
* Relevant qualifications (e.g.,
City & Guilds, NVQ, FIA, or equivalent certifications
in security systems) are desirable.
