ALS is currently recruiting for a finance officer to join the finance team. The individual should have a good knowledge of finance and be confident in all aspects, school related finance would be an advantage.
Key responsibilities
· To assist with producing management accounts
· To assist with producing reports against budgets for all areas of the school
· To assist with processing payroll
· To ensure fees payments are received in a timely manner, reconciling debt as necessary
· To process invoices received against purchase orders raised
Management Accounts
· Process payroll and pension-related functions for all members of staff, ensuring any changes are made timely and accurately
· Bank reconciliation
· Ensure all income and expenditure is correctly reported against agreed cost centres
Income
· Produce invoices for School Fees to agreed timescales
· Ensure Direct Debit payments for school fees are processed and allocated in a timely manner
· Debt collection and reconciliation for overdue invoices
· Ensure banking of income is up to date
· Management of childcare vouchers schemes
· Submit and reconcile Early Year Funding to the Local Authority
Expenditure
· Processing of invoices, ensuring appropriate authorisation and payment
· Processing payment runs via appropriate methods
· Investigating and resolving supplier invoice queries
· Dealing with supplier enquiries
· Process staff expenses, gaining appropriate approval
· Reconciliation of credit card expenditure
Person Specification
* Qualified to Level 3 AAT or relevant experience
* Be confident and have a 'can do' attitude
* To be able to work as part of a team
This job is full time, (Monday to Friday) and full year. The salary is negotiable dependent on the candidate.
