Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with sub-speciality interest

Applications are invited for a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a sub-speciality interest in Urogynaecology at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will join a team of 14 Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologists based at Leighton Hospital in Crewe. You will be required to participate both in general obstetrics and gynaecology and have a sub-specialty interest in Urogynaecology.
Applicants must have full registration with the GMC including a License to Practice and be on the Specialist Register (or be within six months of obtaining their Certificate of Completion of Training).
The post is offered based on 10 Programmed Activities per week with the job plan being intended for a full time appointment but with an opportunity to modify this if the post is offered on any other basis.
Shortlisted candidates will be expected to visit the department prior to interview.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be based at Leighton Hospital, Crewe in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department, within the Women's and Children's Division. The role may involve working at other Trust sites such as the Victoria Infirmary in Northwich where some Gynaecology outpatient clinics are delivered.
The on-call commitment to the non-resident consultant on-call rota is 1:12. The post will also involve Consultant of the Week responsibility on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on a 1:12 basis.

Job responsibilities
This post is for a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a sub-speciality interest in Urogynaecology. The job plan will be based on 10 Programmed Activities per week.
The successful candidate will contribute to the overall delivery of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology service, which includes a commitment to the non-resident consultant on-call rota and Consultant of the Week rota, both worked on a 1:12 basis.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* MRCOG or equivalent
* Two appropriate ATSMs, SITMs or Sub speciality training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to include Urogynaecology
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via: CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview), CESR or European Community Rights
* Full doctors GMC registration with licence to practice
* Experience in the following areas: Laparoscopic skills & Benign gynaecology care
Ability
* Possesses training and education skills to teach junior, medical, nursing and midwifery students and staff
* Provides learning opportunities within the clinical environment to teach junior
Experience and Knowledge
* A wide general obstetrics and gynaecology training
* Good experience at running labour ward and Emergency Gynaecology at a senior level
* Either of the following can be beneficial: Risk management experience & Medical education experience
