The Extra Care Scheme Manager is responsible for the on-site care and support services delivered within the scheme 24 hours per day. The Extra Care Scheme Manager is responsible for effectively leading, managing, and supporting a team of senior care workers and support staff to deliver reliable and responsive person-centered care and support to residents. You will promote the independence, security, and wellbeing of residents, working in partnership with the on-site Housing Provider team, the Local Authority, and third sector organizations involved in supporting the residents. You will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of the scheme while continually developing and improving on-site services to meet the needs of the residents, ensuring quality standards are adhered to in line with regulatory, company, and contractual requirements. - Manage the overall setting. - Ensure robust, person-centered care plans are in place, allowing staff to deliver agreed outcomes. - Regular liaison with social workers, social services, commissioners, health authorities, District Nurses, voluntary organizations, and other professionals involved in service integration. - Responsible for the budget management of your own profit and loss report. - Lead investigations into complaints, safeguarding concerns, or incidents, ensuring responses adhere to service level agreements (SLA). - Support and develop staff through coaching, inductions, training, personal development reviews, and mentoring. - Produce, monitor, review, and report KPIs in line with company and local authority contractual requirements. - Attend allocation/panel meetings with the Housing Manager, making recommendations and offers to potential residents while achieving a balanced community of care and support needs. - Take responsibility for the Business Continuity Plan, working with the Housing Provider on fire evacuation and emergency planning. - Collaborate with the Housing Provider to ensure a range of activities and encourage participation. - Liaise with health services regarding medication administration, recording, and supervision in accordance with policies and procedures. - Provide direct care and support to residents in emergencies where appropriate. - Effectively liaise with all relevant stakeholders, including professionals, care workers, families, and advocates. - Attend supervision, team meetings, and training sessions as required, sometimes off-site. - Understand the needs of older people and the purpose of Extra Care Housing. - Possess knowledge of managing good practice and innovation in an Extra Care Scheme setting, including supervising medication. - Demonstrate successful leadership of care and support services. - Be capable of accurately reporting, producing reports, and meeting deadlines in line with contractual and regulatory obligations. - Lead a varied team working shift patterns, maintaining accurate staffing levels. Desirable: - Experience in planning staff rotas using rostering systems. - Previous experience managing onsite care and support within an Extra Care setting.
