Overview
Wood is recruiting for a Lead Planning Engineer to join our team in Reading on an agency basis. The role will support our portfolio of energy transition and conventional energy projects and offers flexible / hybrid working. The role will act as a focal point to ensure that schedules and systems are integrated to measure, trend and forecast the work, and are in place and managed.
Responsibilities
* Acts as Planning focal point for specific project scopes
* Review and maintain planning control structures aligned with approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
* Review and maintain baseline project plans and schedules using appropriate scheduling software
* Monitor and control planning activities through all phases of the project lifecycle
* Liaise with engineering, procurement and construction functions (and third parties as required) to maintain awareness of project activities, status, and impact on schedule and manpower
* Analyse and issue copies of project plans and schedules in accordance with reporting requirements
* Analyse and issue copies of project progress and performance status reports
* Review and analyse updates to project plans, schedules and manpower requirements
* Assess and communicate schedule impact of change notifications
* Monitor overall project progress, milestones, and performance relative to plan
* Attend internal project progress and performance status meetings as required
* Liaise with cost discipline to ensure accurate control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and include change impacts in schedules
* Participate in schedule risk analysis as required
* Lead and participate in Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement Reviews
Qualifications
* Practical applied experience in planning and scheduling
* Expertise in project controls and planning tools
* Knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
* Team player with ability to share ideas with a multi-disciplinary team
* Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
* Strong numerical, analytical and detail-oriented skills
* Good planning and organizational skills with ability to meet tight deadlines
