Lecturer in Sociology
* Annual Salary: £33,429 to £46,618 including London Weighting
* Location: West London
* Job Type: Full Time
We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Sociology to join our client's academic team. This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for sociology and a proven track record of effective teaching at various levels up to Level 3, including A Level. The successful candidate will engage and inspire students aged 16-19 and contribute to the development of the sociology curriculum.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Deliver high-quality teaching in sociology to students at various levels, including A Level.
* Develop and update course materials in sociology to ensure they meet the learning needs of students and the curriculum standards.
* Engage students in their learning through innovative and interactive teaching methods.
* Assess, monitor, support, and record student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience.
* Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and other professional development activities to improve teaching practices.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and curriculum improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* A degree in sociology or a closely related subject.
* Successful teaching experience in sociology up to Level 3, including A Level.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students aged 16-19.
* Commitment to continuous professional development; if not already qualified, willingness to obtain a Level 5 teaching qualification (support provided by the College).
