Employment Solicitor – Senior Associate / Principal Associate (5 PQE) Manchester | Hybrid Working | Competitive Salary Benefits £80,000 - £95,000 An established and highly regarded Employment team is looking to appoint a Senior / Principal Associate to support its continued growth in Manchester. This role offers an excellent platform for an experienced employment lawyer who wants high‑quality work, genuine responsibility, and influence within a growing team. Highly regarded employment team The team advises a diverse and high‑profile client base, including major PLCs, national businesses, tech and media organisations, and well‑known retail brands. It is recognised for delivering commercial, pragmatic advice and for fostering a collaborative, supportive culture. You will work closely with Partners and other senior lawyers on some of the team’s most significant and strategically important matters. The role At Senior / Principal Associate level, you will play a key role in delivering complex employment advice and supporting the wider development of the practice. Your work will include: Managing complex Employment Tribunal litigation, including high‑profile and sensitive matters Advising on strategic employment issues such as restructures, whistleblowing, senior exits and discrimination Providing employment support on corporate transactions, including M&A and TUPE Leading matters independently while collaborating closely with Partners on high‑value projects Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers Developing strong client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser Contributing to business development, profile‑raising and client initiatives About you Qualified solicitor with 5 years’ PQE in employment law Strong experience across both contentious and non‑contentious employment matters Respondent employment experience preferred, though strong claimant backgrounds will be considered Commercially astute with the confidence to lead matters and advise senior stakeholders Interested in mentoring, team development and contributing to the growth of the practice What’s on offer High‑quality, often complex employment work across multiple sectors A genuinely collaborative and inclusive team culture Real autonomy and responsibility at Senior Associate / Principal Associate level Clear and credible progression opportunities Hybrid and flexible working This is a rare opportunity for a senior employment solicitor looking to step up in responsibility and visibility within a well‑respected and growing Manchester team.
