Opened in October 2015, Hilton London Bankside represents the next generation of design-led Hilton Hotels. Set in the heart of Bankside, just steps from some of London's most famous landmarks such as Tate Modern, Borough Market and The Shard, Hilton London Bankside is home to 292 stunning guest rooms including 25 bespoke suites which offer breathtaking views of the city skyline. In addition, the hotel brings a new neighbourhood eatery, OXBO Bankside to the area, alongside The Distillery, a cool and casual bar.

The hotel also features Bankside's largest and most exquisite Ballroom accommodating up to 700 guests' theatre style or 500 in a banquet setting. With a private entrance, a 6-metre-high ceiling, dramatic chandeliers, a balcony and sweeping marble staircase leading to the Bankside Ballroom, this is a spectacular venue for any grand celebration, fashion show, awards ceremony, or corporate event.

Our award-winning, design-led hotel will be adding 76 beautifully crafted new rooms, bringing our total offering to 368 rooms by Q1 2026.


Job Description


The key purpose of your role is to deliver the hotel's annual revenue budget for 'Conferences and Events'; ensuring that the customer experience from enquiry to invoice is exceptional. Deliverables:

* Promotes, sells and controls the conference and events spaces available in the hotel.
* Responsible for the full sales cycle, from client enquiry, negotiating, contracting, up- selling, creating, and managing the Banquet Event Order to delivery of the event, as well as post event billings, follow-up and rebooking.
* Maintains company procedures relating to credit, health and safety, and provides all relevant departments with the necessary information to deliver excellent customer service.
* Supporting the Director of Groups, Conference and Events with the running of the G,C&E Team.

Role in our Family

* To actively convert customer enquiries into confirmed sales
* To develop future and repeat business, contributing to the profitability of the hotel
* To be aware of the budgets / financial targets within the property both overall hotel and departmental. With this in mind constantly looking at methods to increase sales and ideas for saving costs.
* To develop successful customer partnerships, both direct and with third Parties
* To develop a broad range of product knowledge about the hotel.
* Understand the strengths and weaknesses of the competitors.
* To conduct show rounds, pre con meetings, menu tasting if requested.
* To deliver outstanding Customer Service whilst ensuring a clear and effective line of communication is maintained with all relevant departments within the hotel
* To handle all customer enquiries with a professional telephone manner and high standard of customer service
* To pro-actively identify customer needs and provide solutions to match them
* Effective diary management
* Execute the conference and events sales strategy and yield the conference diary
* To keep departments and customers updated in a timely manner
* To develop productive working relationships and ongoing communication with all revenue generating departments increasing the development of business and the maximisation of yield and space within the Hotel
* To create accurate written confirmations and quotations for clients in line with departmental standards
* To ensure accurate and up to date customer records in Hotel provided system application and that all best practices are followed and maintained
* To compile and produce the departments function sheet on a weekly basis
* To work and co-operate with others, taking part in departmental meetings, team briefings and project work and support other team members and provide assistance when necessary to ensure the team achieve their goals
* To handle all administrative tasks in an efficient and timely manner
* To organise and prioritise work in order to ensure guaranteed response times and deadlines are met
* Act as the first point of contact for immediate assistance during meetings and events, acting as the conduit to channel requirements to other hotel departments
* Greet meeting planners, escort them to their meeting room and run through the order of events
* Ensure correct forecasting of their own Events to incl pre and post event details
* Take ownership of all requests made by their client or delegate requests.
