Wider Leadership Position
Sherwood Park School – Park Campus
Salary: Teachers Pay Spine M1 to U3 (+ 1 or 2 POINTS FOR SEN, + TLR2b)
Contract type: Full time and Permanent (Part time positions may be discussed)
Start Date: September 2025
Sherwood Park School is an all age (3-19) Foundation Special School for pupils with Severe/ Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and /or disabilities (SLD/PMLD), as well as pupils who are on the Autistic spectrum (ASD) with complex needs.
We have high aspirations for all our pupils and we pride ourselves on putting the child at the centre of everything we do. Our curriculum ensures that our pupils, who come from a wide range of backgrounds, have exceptional opportunities to excel and access exciting opportunities in school, and beyond school, to develop their physical, social and emotional well-being. Our school is based across two campuses (one catering for the needs of pupils with autism and severe learning disabilities and the other for pupils with profound / severe and complex learning disabilities)
This post will be based at the Sherwood Park site and will have responsibility for a teaching department within Sherwood Park Campus. There is some potential flexibility on the department of responsibility to be discussed within the interview stage.
The main purpose of the role is to:
● Take specific responsibility and accountability for the day-to-day management and organisation of the allocated department’s provision within the Sherwood Hill site of Sherwood Park School.
● Be an excellent classroom practitioner, modelling to other teachers and staff, with a teaching timetable of 70%
● Have an impact on educational progress beyond your assigned pupils
● Line manage, performance manage and appraise identified staff
● Assist in the smooth running of the school at all times, including being responsible with the other TLR holders for the school in the absence of the Headteacher, Head of School and Assistant Headteacher
● Contribute to the development and successful implementation of the School’s Development Plan as part of the Wider Leadership Team.
● Manage effectively the transition of pupils to and from your department and within it, including, home visits, nursery/pre-school visits, review of admissions paperwork
