Director of Children's Social Care Reform and Professional Standards
Location: County Hall, Preston Lancashire
Salary: £97,330 – £108,697 (plus relocation and car allowance)
Reports to: Executive Director for Education and Children’s Services
About the role:
Lancashire County Council is seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to drive the transformation of Children’s Social Care and lead the implementation of the families first programme,
Key responsibilities
1. Lead the strategic design, planning, and delivery of the families first programme.
2. Provide visionary leadership for quality assurance, inspection and safeguarding, early help, and professional standards.
3. Work collaboratively with partners across police, health, education, and other agencies to embed reforms and deliver improved outcomes.
4. Ensure operational and workforce implications are fully considered in all reforms.
5. Deputise for the Director of Children’s Social Care at senior forums and statutory boards.
About You
6. Proven track record of senior leadership in children’s services, with experience of delivering large-scale change and innovation.
7. Extensive knowledge of children’s social care legislation and Ofsted regulatory standards.
8. Experience of building effective partnerships and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
9. Strong communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively within political environments.
