Job Description
The position is based at our workshops in Goddards Green, near Burgess Hill. Technicians will work on our fleet of rescue recovery vehicles, performing repairs, inspections, and servicing.
Vehicle types include cars, light vans, and 44-tonne HGV recovery vehicles, such as Renault, Volvo, Iveco, Mitsubishi, and Mercedes Benz.
The work is varied and challenging, involving different vehicle types and fault diagnoses. Quality of repairs and adhering to time limits are essential.
For out-of-hours breakdown attendances, a service van will be provided, with payment on an hourly basis as detailed below.
Remuneration
* Basic salary of £49,140 per annum (£21.00/hour for 45 hours/week)
* Potential OTE up to £65,000 per annum
* Overtime paid at 1.25x standard hourly rate
* Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:30, including a 30-minute unpaid break, with flexible hours between 06:00 and 20:00
* 28 days paid holiday annually, including 8 public/bank holidays
Person Specification
* Qualified HGV Technician
* Experience in servicing, diagnosing, and repairing HGVs in a workshop environment
* Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, including hydraulics and diagnostics
* Full UK driving license required; HGV Class 1 or 2 preferred
* Reliable, organized, capable of managing workloads and maintaining high standards
* Excellent problem-solving skills and methodical fault-finding abilities
* Effective team player with good communication skills
* Health & safety conscious with proactive safety practices
* Willing to undertake further training and stay updated with industry developments
