Job Description
What you’ll be doing as a Technical Support Engineer;
1. You’ll be based remotely / from home providing support to our engineering and sales teams nationally.
2. Diagnosing faults and assisting with the design of Fire Alarms and Emergency Lighting Systems, as well as with Intruder Alarms, CCTV and Electronic Access Control systems
3. Awareness and understanding of innovative technologies such as Remotely Monitored Systems and IP networks.
4. Have regular contact with key stakeholders including Sellers, Operations Managers, and Customers.
5. Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers, branches and engineers when diagnosing faults, and adopt suitable language to suit the target audience
6. Conduct comprehensive product evaluation, to assist in assessments which will drive strategic decisions
7. Act as Chubb’s ‘subject matter expert’ on the areas of specific competence, and supporting colleagues in similar roles
8. Creation of technical documentation, bulletins, toolbox talks, and work instructions.
9. Being able to conduct effective site meetings as required to support both engineers and/or sales and be confident to lead technical meetings or seminars with customers and influencers.
10. Proficient in producing clearly written reports as required.
11. Able to effectively communicate with individuals of varying competences.
12. Ability to assist with technical training issues and liaising with the technical and sales trainers
Qualifications
What We Would Like You to Bring
13. Ideally be an experienced industry professional with knowledge of fire and security products and systems (fire alarms, emergency lighting, Intruder Alarms, CCTV and EAC)
14. Be experienced in dealing pro-actively with major clients and internal departments
15. Great communication skills for our internal and external customers
16. Be analytical with the ability to spot trends and propose changes to mitigate risks
17. Have strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail
18. Naturally inquisitive, with the desire to understand ‘why’, and shape the future of the technology we adopt
