As our Regional Building Surveyor, you'll manage our Retail Division's property portfolio in the London and the South East area.
Your region will cover from Essex & Greater London, across the East Midlands and central England. Additionally, you'll support stores nationwide to meet emergent requirements.
You'll deliver a full range of building surveying services, both reactive and planned maintenance, including:
* leading diverse projects, from essential repairs to rejuvenating refurbishments and exciting fit-outs
* managing contract and tender documentation
* fulfilling CDM duties, including being Principal Designer
* conducting Planned Preventative Maintenance inspections
* overseeing building maintenance
* performing acquisition and disposal surveys
* offering dilapidations advice
* building strong relationships with stakeholders
Experience Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll:
* possess a professional building/construction management qualification (MRICS, MCIOB) or significant demonstrable experience in retail building surveying
* have sound technical knowledge of all legislation relating to the fit-out and occupation of leasehold retail premises (Building Regulations, Planning, CDM, Fire Safety Order, Health & Safety, and Asbestos)
* be a highly effective team player with strong interpersonal, influencing, and decision-making skills.
* have extensive experience in all key aspects of traditional building surveying disciplines, including:

o acquisition and disposals surveys
*
o health and safety
*
o defects analysis
*
o maintenance inspections and management of remedial works
*
o coordinating with stakeholders, including contractors and consultants
*
o access audits
*
o building pathology
*
o dilapidation's
*
o fit-out design
*
o contract administration
It would be advantageous if you have specific experience in developing and maintaining a large retail estate.
Working arrangements
Travel will be based on current project work and the need to visit various sites in project. You will be able to manage your diary accordingly to enable this. There will be overnight stays as required (on average, this would typically be 4-5 nights a month).
