Job Title: Procurement Legal Counsel
Location: Warton. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: £85,000+ depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
* Sitting within the Procurement leadership team, being fully embedded within the procurement function, work collaboratively across Legal and Export Control to deliver integrated, business-focused legal support
* Helping to shape supplier engagement strategies while leading or supporting high-value negotiations and contract development
* Providing legal and strategic guidance on supplier relationships, including ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) considerations, prompt payment practices, and dispute resolution (e.g., LD claims), in collaboration with Group Litigation.
* Advising on a broad range of contractual and commercial matters, including global agreements such as those related to enterprise risk (ERP) systems
* Supporting strategic campaigns, bids, and programme delivery across key territories by delivering timely, practical legal advice aligned with business goals
* Developing and delivering training, playbooks, and guidance materials to enhance procurement and legal team capability and consistency
* Actively managing a diverse portfolio of matters through appropriate prioritisation
* Continuously identify and propose improvements to legal processes, tools, and ways of working to drive value and efficiency across the wider business
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* UK qualified solicitor or barrister, you will also have appropriate experience in relevant legal disciplines from a leading law firm and/or in-house experience
* You can draft and negotiate the contracts required by the business across a range of issues and in a changing business environment
* You can deliver legal advice across a portfolio of matters and are prepared to travel as required
Desirable:
* Have an interest in the defence industry, the Company and its products
