Aspire People are seeking an experienced Year 5 Teacher for a long-term maternity cover role starting in September within a supportive and well-established primary school.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident KS2 teacher who enjoys working in Upper Key Stage 2 and preparing pupils for the increased expectations leading into Year 6. The school is looking for a teacher who can challenge pupils academically while also supporting their confidence, resilience, and independence.
The role will involve full teaching responsibilities, including planning, assessment, and working closely with the wider KS2 team. The school would like to interview suitable candidates as soon as possible and may offer the chance to spend time in school before the summer holidays.
The Role:
* Full class teaching responsibilities within Year 5
* Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across the curriculum
* Supporting pupils with reasoning, comprehension, and extended writing
* Preparing pupils for transition into Year 6
* Monitoring attainment and adapting teaching strategies where required
* Creating a positive and engaging learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Have strong experience teaching within KS2
* Be confident managing behaviour and maintaining high expectations
* Have excellent knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
* Be organised, proactive, and passionate about pupil development
* Work effectively as part of a team
