Are you hands-on, curious, and keen to start a career in technology? Sonardyne’s Aberdeen team is looking for a Trainee Workshop Technician to support the repair, servicing, and calibration of our advanced subsea equipment. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global company with a strong reputation in marine technology, where you’ll learn by doing and gain valuable skills in electronics, mechanics, and customer service.
What You’ll Do:
Work in our busy Aberdeen Workshop, repairing, servicing, and calibrating Sonardyne’s cutting-edge underwater technology – some work to component level.
Deliver accurate repair quotations and help maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Support warehouse operations and help manage stock levels and inventory systems.
Contribute to our safe, clean and well-organised working environment.
Build technical knowledge through training and hands-on experience.
Keep up to date with new product developments and participate in technical training sessions.
What We’re Looking For:
Practical experience in mechanical assembly or technical repairs.
A methodical approach to fault finding and diagnosis.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
A valid UK driving licence.
A proactive, flexible attitude and a willingness to learn.
Familiarity with Sonardyne products or similar technologies.
Prior experience in equipment calibration or component-level repair.
Additional Info:
You’ll need to be medically fit for offshore training and potential travel.
Occasional UK or overseas travel may be required.
You’ll be supported with regular technical training and development opportunities.
This role does not have direct reports.
