We are looking for a strategic specification sales expert with a proven network in the UK's key industrial sectors. Our client is a European manufacturer of advanced fluid and air handling solutions who are currently big on the continent and investing to grow their business in the UK. The role requires an ambitious, autonomous Business Development Manager to drive growth in the UK.
You will be representing a portfolio of high-quality, disruptive pipework, heat pumps, and ducting systems that offer unique, measurable benefits over traditional competitors. The products are essential for environments where cleanliness and durability are paramount, such as: Food & Beverage Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Water & Wastewater Treatment.
The role requires a proven business developer with an "eye for new opportunities" and a knack for influencing senior-level procurement staff and EPC consultants. This is a great opportunity to build a market presence from the ground up with significant autonomy and opportunities for progression.
The Opportunity as a Business Development Manager, Industrial Specification Sales
* This is an entrepreneurial, new business-oriented specification sales role. While the products are sold at the premium end of the market, their easier installation and superior durability make them a compelling long-term investment.

* Proven B2B Sales and Business Development experience within key UK industrial sectors (Food/Bev, Pharma, Water/Wastewater).
* A strong network and proven track record in specification sales, accustomed to winning business with EPC Consultants and contractors.
* A self-starter who is comfortable with taking ownership and building a market from scratch.
* High levels of confidence, resilience, and strong negotiation/persuasion skills to close deals and secure long-term contracts.
* A results-oriented mindset focused on both customer satisfaction and aggressive business growth.
The Key Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager, Industrial Specification Sales
* Proactively identifying and winning new business by ensuring their unique products are specified by Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Consultants, designers, and contractors.
* You will develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships across the supply chain, including consultants, designers, contractors, wholesalers, and installers. CPD presentations will be a core part of your business development strategy.
* You will utilise lead generation tools like Glenigans to develop a strategic pipeline, acting as the voice of the customer to inform future product, pricing, and marketing strategies in the UK.
* You will present complex technical benefits to secure specifications, ensuring the products remain specified throughout the project lifecycle.
* You will operate with a high degree of independence, supported directly by the UK General Manager and our European Technical Teams.
The Package
* Competitive Salary: Up to £65,000 Basic Salary
* On-Target Earnings (OTE): £75,000 (uncapped)
* Fully expensed Hybrid Audi A5 or A4 (dependent on personal/family circumstances)
