Our client is currently looking for an Ocean freight Cross Trades coordinator to join their Basildon branch. The company provides a specialist shipping services for its customers and are looking for someone who will be responsible for controlling and monitoring customer shipments originating in the Far East and shipping to various destinations around the world. You will have the opportunity to develop within time to hopefully progress to a more senior level with additional responsibilities and challenges. The work is varied and interesting and employees have the opportunity to advance within their career if they wish to.
Duties will include:
· Processing documents received from overseas agents
· Data input of customer shipments
· Invoicing and daily liaison with the companie’s overseas office and the customers.
· You will also be required to devise loading plans for our customer’s cargo which will determine what is to be shipped, when and where.
· Training will be provided in many aspects of the shipping industry and customer service skills for the right candidate as they are looking to employ for the long term. The Role will encompass various tasks within the company, working within their existing structure.
· You will be a team player but be self-motivated with willingness to take responsibility & develop within the company
· You will have good organisational skills, and be able to prioritise
Requirements
Experience required:
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding (Sea Freight, ideally Cross Trades)
* A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, and other MS programs.
* Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Experience in Sales / Customer Service beneficial but not essential.
Benefits
Working hours are Monday to Friday 9.00 to 17.00.
Salary will be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
to £35k per annum.
