Python/Julia Developer / Power Industry / Contract
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Our client in Technology sector has models that enable optimisation of grid operations. They are currently working on making this technology more accessible. To that end they're looking for a software engineer experienced in Python, and ideally also Julia.
Their own research code is all Python-based, but the Julia language is used frequently in the power industry and they rely on various functionality available via open-source packages. They'd like to be able to run the systems in a pure Python environment and are looking for someone who can translate existing functionality from one system to another.
There is some span in complexity, from data processing functionality to mathematical optimisation functionality.
While experience with both languages are desirable, the Python side should be weighed more heavily as the final system will be in this language. They want code produced to their high technical standard.
Experience from the power industry would be a nice bonus.
