Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Administrator to join our growing team.
You will ideally be an experienced Finance/Accounts Administrator, with exposure within a small or medium sized business. The company utilises SAGE Accounts and MS Office so good experience in those packages is also essential. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is also important.
Working 22-24 hrs a week over 3 days. (Must include a Friday)
Main Duties
· Purchase ledger - Entering of purchase invoices onto Sage (matching to delivery note and purchase orders and investigating any issues), coding correctly entering onto sage, reconciling supplier accounts to supplier statements and dealing with supplier account queries.
· Sales ledger – Raising customer invoices, credit control including chasing overdue accounts via phone, email and letter, and dealing with account queries.
· Allocating payments/receipts and bank reconciliation, payment queries, preparing regular payment runs to suppliers, as well as ad hoc supplier/client payments.
· Expense Management: Assist in processing employee expense claims and verifying supporting documentation.
· Processing and management of company credit card expenses and reconciliations.
· Ensuring all financial transactions are input correctly into our financial system
· Deal with telephone enquiries from colleagues, customers and suppliers in a helpful and efficient manner.
· General Accounts Administration and Clerical duties including filing and archiving
· Ad-hoc Tasks: Support the finance team with additional duties as required.
Skills & Qualifications
* Good understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
* Familiarity with sales and purchase ledger processes and reconciliations.
* Knowledge of nominal codes, chart of accounts and VAT tax codes.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage,
* Strong numerical skills, high attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
* Advantageous; AAT qualified or qualified by experience
* Two years+ Experience in an accounts or finance role
* Good telephone manner & excellent communication skills
* Ability to multitask and prioritise each day
