Fabricator – Plastics (Permanent Role) Location: Horsham Hours: 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30 (30-minute break) We are recruiting an experienced Fabricator to join a well-established manufacturing team. This role involves hands-on fabrication, assembly and finishing of plastic components used across a range of engineered products. Ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, values precision and takes pride in producing high-quality items. Key Responsibilities Fabrication & Assembly * Carry out hands-on fabrication as part of the production team. * Fabricate, assemble, rework and repair plastic products using hand tools, power tools and machinery. * Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and work orders. * Mark out, cut and shape materials such as sheet plastics and fibreglass. * Operate equipment including presses, forming machines and cutting tools. * Trim, drill, countersink, grind and finish components to specification. * Verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers and other precision instruments. * Fit and assemble parts and hardware using jigs, fixtures and fasteners. * Apply adhesives, tapes and foams for bonding processes. * Repair or rework defective parts using various fabrication techniques. Quality Control * Ensure all work meets required quality standards. Teamwork * Work collaboratively with colleagues across the fabrication team. * Assist with wider production tasks when needed. Health & Safety * Follow all Health & Safety procedures and working practices. * Comply with current risk assessments and method statements. Essential Skills & Experience * Previous experience in plastic process vessel fabrication or similar plastic-fabrication environments. * Full driving licence (advantageous for occasional off-site work). * Forklift licence – desirable but not essential. * Strong understanding of technical standards and fabrication codes. * Confident decision-making, especially regarding safety and engineering risks. * Good organisational, planning and time-management skills. * Reliable, constructive team player with good communication and integrity. * Numerate and able to interpret technical documentation.
