We exclusively represent a globally renowned manufacturer of automated material handling solutions. They produce high-quality, bespoke solutions for a variety of industries with a strong reputation.
Due to growth within their EMEA business, they need to expand their project engineering team focused on controls engineering.
This is a position that will expose you to projects varying in complexity, project volume and bespoke nature. Projects are rarely the same due to the environment they are installed in.
Responsibilities
* Assist with the development and implementation of controls solution standards
* Assist with the continuous development and improvement of the controls design framework
* Technical project lead for allocated projects, compiling and keeping up to date the project technical documentation
* Verification and validation of design solutions against customer requirements, including document reviews, FAT & SAT witnessing
* Guide and assist Controls Engineers with the development of PLC software and any other aspects of the delivery of a solution, including fault‑finding when necessary
* Assist the Electrical & Controls Manager and Project Engineering Manager with department‑related tasks to continuously improve and deliver to business objectives
* Occasionally act as Design Manager or Commissioning Manager on projects
Experience and Qualifications
* ~6+ years of project engineering/management/leadership experience
* Proven track record of delivering projects
* Ideally exposed to projects from sales hand‑vero to completion
* An engineering degree or experience in place of further education
* Extensive PLC knowledge (preferably Siemens), but would consider Allen Bradley or Schneider
* Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
* Good knowledge of SCADA systems and other high‑level control interfaces (e.g. SAC, Sorters, RFID, Scanners)
* Understanding of CDM regulations
Candidates must be willing and able to travel internationally for project execution purposes.
