Job Description
We are currently seeking a compassionate, experienced, and creative Speech and Language Therapist to work at a school that we work with closely. The role is a long-term contract with the option of progressing to a permanent contract. The role of a Speech and Language Therapist plays an important role in helping pupils progression.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work collaboratively with the Senior Speech and Language Therapist and wider therapeutic team to support pupil communication needs in line with the CATHS approach.
2. Embed a Total Communication approach throughout the school environment.
3. Conduct speech, language, and communication assessments for all pupils.
4. Plan and deliver universal, targeted, and specialist therapy interventions using evidence-based methods.
5. Collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals to integrate communication goals into each pupil’s Personal Learning Plan (PLP).
6. Offer classroom-based support to embed communication strategies across the school day.
7. Manage a diverse caseload, including pupils with highly complex communication needs.
8. Monitor and regularly review pupils’ progress, adapting interventions accordingly.
