A leading specialist provider is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Social Worker – Parenting Assessment Specialist to join their reputable Parenting Assessment Unit on the Wirral. This full-time, part-time, or fixed-term role offers a unique opportunity to work at the heart of family transformation through a 12–14 week residential program designed to support and assess parents’ ability to provide high-quality care. Key Responsibilities: Assessment & Reporting Conduct high-standard parenting assessments, including specialist MALD assessments (training provided), and prepare court-ready reports such as Position Statements, Midway, and Weekly reports. Clinical Oversight Quality assure weekly reports, analyze case notes, and provide clear guidance to Family Support Workers. Family Engagement Employ creative approaches to adapt to parents' learning styles, assisting them in understanding their child's developmental milestones and basic care routines. Safeguarding Balance risks and rights, ensuring children's safety while promoting parental independence and empowerment. Collaboration Work effectively with partner agencies and coordinate independent social worker input when required. On-Call Support Participate in a duty rota to support the team during critical situations. What We’re Looking For: Qualifications: Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and current Social Work England registration. Experience: Minimum of 1 year in social work, ideally within family support or child protection. Skills: Strong critical reflection skills, excellent written communication, and the ability to manage complex, high-risk scenarios. Knowledge: Familiarity with NICE guidelines, baby/toddler developmental milestones, and GDPR compliance.
