Technical product manager

📍 Location: Telford / Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week in Telford office)

We are excited to offer an internal opportunity to a driven and collaborative Technical Manager / Technical Product Manager to join our team and help shape the future of our renewable energy product range within Sync Energy — a division of Luceco PLC.


About the Role

As Technical Manager / Technical Product Manager, you’ll oversee the technical development and management of our renewable energy products. You’ll work closely with engineering teams, manage product specifications, and ensure our solutions meet both market and customer needs.


What you’ll be doing

* Outline and manage firmware and product specifications.
* Assist in designing app UI and features to meet customer expectations.
* Work with installation, training, and support teams on new product requirements and launches.
* Translate market requirements into engineering specifications and product requirements documents (PRDs).
* Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineers on product design, testing, and certification.
* Manage back office and third‑party software vendors for integration, support, and customer offerings.
* Work with the Business Development Manager team on requirements for commercial offerings, support, and product marketing.
* Manage the renewable product range and future development projects.


What we’re looking for

* Experience in renewable energy (HEMS/Battery/Solar) or EV charging.
* Knowledge of app/software development processes.
* Experience collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams (electrical, mechanical, firmware).
* Familiarity with software and app development, including UI/UX principles.
* Experience working with third‑party vendors and managing integrations.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.
* Experience managing technical product development in the renewables or EV charging sector.
* Proven ability to translate market requirements into technical specifications and PRDs.
* Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Renewable Energy, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
