Senior Site Engineer Severn Trent Water Projects To lead and manage the technical delivery of civil engineering works on Severn Trent Water infrastructure projects, ensuring works are completed safely, to specification, on programme, and in line with Severn Trent standards and regulatory requirements. Projects may include water treatment works, wastewater treatment works, pumping stations, pipelines, and associated civil structures. Key Responsibilities 1?? Technical Leadership Lead all engineering and setting-out activities on site Interpret drawings, specifications, and Severn Trent standards Resolve technical queries and manage RFIs Liaise with design teams to address buildability and design changes Ensure works comply with industry standards and client requirements Works delivered for Severn Trent must meet strict regulatory and quality controls. 2?? Setting Out & Survey Management Oversee complex setting out for RC structures, pipework, drainage, and utilities Check and approve setting out completed by site engineers Maintain site control networks Ensure accurate as-built records and handover documentation 3?? Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 Review and approve RAMS Lead safe systems of work in confined spaces, excavations, and live water environments Promote behavioural safety culture Ensure environmental compliance (pollution prevention, waste management) 4?? Quality Assurance & Client Standards Manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) Ensure materials meet WIMES and Severn Trent specifications Oversee pressure testing, chlorination, and commissioning support Support audits and quality inspections Ensure works comply with DWI and EA standards where applicable 5?? Programme & Coordination Support short-term and look-ahead planning Coordinate subcontractors and direct labour Identify programme risks and mitigation measures Work closely with Site Manager and Project Manager to meet delivery targets 6?? Commercial & Contractual Awareness Identify and manage variations Support measurement and valuation processes Understand NEC contract requirements (if applicable) Provide technical input to compensation events 7??
