28 hours per week, includes every other weekend

7 am - 2 pm and 2 pm – 9 pm

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Care Assistant to join our team in a specialist dementia care home. This role is vital in supporting residents to live with dignity, comfort, and joy. You’ll be part of a compassionate team that makes a real difference every day.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide person-centred care tailored to the individual needs of residents living with dementia.
2. Assist with daily living activities including washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
3. Support residents during mealtimes, ensuring nutritional needs are met with dignity.
4. Engage residents in meaningful activities and conversation to promote emotional well-being.
5. Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to senior staff.
6. Maintain accurate records of care provided and follow care plans.
7. Uphold high standards of hygiene, safety, and infection control.
8. Foster a warm, respectful, and inclusive environment for residents and their families.

What We’re Looking For:

9. Genuine passion for caring for older people, especially those living with dementia.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Patience, empathy, and a calm approach to challenging situations.
12. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
13. Willingness to undertake training in dementia care and safeguarding.

Elizabeth Court in Caterham is home to well trained and helpful staff with rooms for up to 59 residents.
