Our client, based in Birmingham, is seeking an 18+ Leaving Care Personal Advisor to join their team.

Main Purpose of the Role:

To provide a statutory social work service for children in care and care leavers aged 18-25 years, ensuring all legislative requirements are met. The work involves case management with eligible, relevant, former relevant, and qualifying care leavers, including the coordination, preparation, and completion of pathway plans and supporting young people in their transition to independent adulthood.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Act as a full member of the service team and contribute to its development within the directorate.
* Manage an individual caseload, work with individual and groups of young people, and participate in duty work to respond to emerging needs.
* Participate in providing appropriate programmes for service users, collaborating with other staff and agencies to facilitate effective transition to adulthood, especially from care to independent living.
* Implement and adhere to all relevant procedures as an aftercare adviser.

Requirements:

* Enhanced DBS clearance.
* Substantial experience working with children and young people up to age 21, or 25 if in higher education, in voluntary or professional settings.
* Experience of interagency work with vulnerable, at-risk, homeless, or care-experienced young people.
* Experience managing caseloads and achieving outcomes for young people under supervision.
* Proficiency in electronic case recording systems and software such as Word.
* Ability to advise on budgeting and financial accountability where appropriate.
* Ability to facilitate education, training, and employment opportunities for care leavers.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop rapport with young people, including those who are difficult to engage.
* Ability to build working relationships with families, carers, and partner agencies across various sectors.
* Aspirational attitude towards supporting young people.
* Good verbal presentation skills.
* Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing situations.
* Commitment to anti-oppressive and anti-discriminatory practice.
* Teamwork skills and ability to contribute positively to the team environment.

Pay: £18 per hour

Shift Pattern: 08:45 AM to 5:15 PM
