Specialist Medical Physics Technologist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a position within the Medical Equipment Management Service at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, to support the delivery of a medical equipment management service.
Medical Physics is recruiting an experienced electronic / electro-mechanical service technicians, graduates or technicians from other industry to work within healthcare science as a medical equipment technologist, within the Medical Equipment Management Service. You will have a degree or technical HND or equivalent qualification in an electronics or medical engineering discipline, and experience of working within an electronic servicing role. We are looking for applicants who are self-motivated and able to work effectively within a team to ensure the day-to-day running of the service. Good interpersonal skills are essential, as is a flexible and methodical approach to the required tasks. Experience of working on anaesthesia and ventilation equipment is an advantage. This post may involve travelling and working at various hospitals and clinics in Lothian.
The Medical Equipment Management service has a track record of developing staff to enhance career opportunities. With a clear focus on quality and patient services, you will join an enthusiastic multidisciplinary team providing an equipment management service for a wide range of medical equipment. You will work across many clinical specialities, supporting the delivery of world class healthcare at four acute hospital sites and within the local healthcare community. You will be self motivated and able to work effectively within a team to ensure the day-to-day running of the service. Good interpersonal skills are essential as is a flexible and methodical approach.

ANNEX 21 (U)
For trainees covered by Annex 21 where the period of training lasts for between one and four years, pay will be as follows:
1. up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate.
2. more than one but less than two years prior to completion of training: 70 per cent of the pay band maximum of the qualified rate of the qualified.
3. more than two but less than three years prior to completion of training: 65 per cent of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate.
4. more than three years from completion of training: 60 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate.
