The Performing Arts department has a skilled and committed team of staff who use a wide variety of teaching and assessment methods for students following Vocational programmes. We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and student-centred teacher of Musical Theatre and Dance who can contribute to a successful curriculum area across specialist pathways, including performance events and visits. The successful candidate will have a passion for theatre, excellent leadership skills, and a broad range of interdisciplinary knowledge. Teaching includes the opportunity to deliver technique classes in ballet, jazz, singing skills for dancers and actors and musical theatre repertoire. They will lead and team teach on skill-based projects and deliver rehearsal processes covering a range of units to inspire and mentor students to achieve their potential. The candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering curriculum including events and productions, collaborating with the wider performing arts team and for assessing course content in skills across acting, singing and dancing. They will also act as a personal coach monitoring the pastoral progress of a cohort of learners alongside teaching.
