A Science Technician is needed in a Mixed Secondary School and Sixth Form in South West London.
This will be a part time long term Science Technician position with scope to go permanent.
The timetable will be 3 days a week for this Science Technician post and the school is flexible on what days they can offer.
Responsibilities for this Science Technician role will include but not be limited to:
* Assisting and preparing practical lessons alongside the Science Teachers
* Ensuring equipment and materials are safely stored when not in use
* Guiding staff and pupils in correct Health and Safety policies
* Maintaining and repairing all resources when required
* Keeping track of what is out of stock and making the necessary orders when needed
* Disposing of hazardous waste in a safe manner
The rates of pay for this Science Technician position will be between GBP82.14 to GBP130 a day, depending on the qualifications and experiences of each applicant.
The School
An Outstanding Secondary School and Sixth Form in the London Borough of Merton.
It is a mixed, 11 : 18, non:selective school with a wide demographic of pupils and staff.
90 of students stay in education or employment after Key Stage 4.
The site has its own dedicated SEN Support Centre and a variety of sports facilities.
Ofsted have noted there is positive culture of learning and a strong sense of community.
Requirements
Youre welcome if youre a recent Science Graduate or experienced Science Technician.
Applications are also welcome if youre British trained Science Technician or overseas trained Science Technician.
All applicants must have the following in order to be considered for this position as a Science Technician:
* Right to work in the UK
* Clear and up to date Enhanced DBS
* UK Science Degree or overseas equivalent
* COSHH trained/basic Health and Safety knowledge
* Experience in a lab setting or as a Science Technician in a UK school
