Key Responsibilities
As the Head of Service, you will be fully responsible for the delivery and performance management of the Family Families Programme (FFP) and wider care reforms.

Strategic Leadership: Set short, medium, and long-term objectives to improve business performance and children's outcomes in line with "Swindon 2028."

Reform & Innovation: Lead the roadmap for implementing national social care reforms, co-designing new models for Early Support, Multi-agency Child Protection, and Kinship support.
*
Inspection Readiness: Lead action planning for DfE requirements and inspection outcomes, ensuring all statutory responsibilities (Section 11, Working Together 2023) are met.

Partnership & Governance: Maintain robust governance structures and work closely with Health, Education, and Police partners to strengthen integrated working.

Financial Oversight: Develop business cases, maximize grant funding opportunities, and manage the deployment of resources and budgets effectively.
Professional Requirements
*
Proven Experience: Significant recent experience leading sustained change and transformation within Children’s Social Care.
*
Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of best practices with children and families.
*
Visionary Mindset: Ability to use data and feedback to evidence impact and refine service delivery.
*
Collaboration: Exceptional skills in co-production, engaging staff, families, and young people in the development of operating models.
