Hours: 19 hours per week, shifts 12:00 – 16:00 on a rotating 4‑week rota
Hourly rate: £13.45
Role overview
Personal Assistants (Support Workers) are key to the work we do at Enable. You will support an individual who requires help to achieve their daily goals, including personal care, moving and handling, and positive behavioural support, while also helping them build social networks and participate in everyday activities.
Responsibilities
* Assist with personal care tasks such as dressing, feeding, grooming and toileting.
* Provide safe and effective moving and handling support.
* Support the individual in using public transport, shopping and other community services.
* Apply person‑centred approaches to plan and deliver support.
* Support the person’s behavioural needs using Positive Behaviour Support techniques.
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date care plans and progress notes.
* Work collaboratively with team members to ensure safety, wellbeing and the individual’s aspirations are met.
Qualifications and skills
* Values and commitment to supporting people with learning disabilities and other support needs.
* Transferable skills such as communication, empathy, reliability and a willingness to learn.
* Knowledge or willingness to develop in areas such as autism, epilepsy awareness, and adult/child support and protection.
* Fitness to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 3 months of starting.
