Lead and grow a national multi-disciplinary team delivering biodiversity and ecosystems solutions for private and public sector clients. Drive sustainability-forward initiatives and contribute to Ramboll’s Environment and Health market in the UK & Ireland.
Your new role
Ramboll is looking for an experienced Director to lead our Biodiversity and Ecosystems Service Line in the UK, reporting to the Environment and Health UK&I Director. You will work alongside other Service Line Leaders in Impact Assessment, Site Solutions, Air Quality, Noise & Climate, Health Sciences and Compliance, Strategy & Transactions. You will be responsible for the operation, development and growth of the UK&I Biodiversity & Ecosystems service line. The service line is a national team, part of our IA and B&E global service line delivering nature-positive solutions for private and public sector clients.
You will maintain and grow key client relationships, shape business development strategy, oversee project portfolios, and drive strategic management, growth and development of the teams within Biodiversity & Ecosystems. Our team brings expertise in landscape, water, ecology, arboriculture, metrics and nature-positive approaches to provide integrated and nature-based solutions to complex client challenges.
To succeed, you must be client-focused with a proven track record in leading and developing teams delivering technically excellent, high-quality services. Experience advising organisations on corporate biodiversity & nature-based solutions in the UK and internationally is required.
Your key responsibilities
* Drive strategic direction: set and align the UK&I Biodiversity and Ecosystems Service Line with global strategy and geography needs
* Drive profitable growth: deliver revenue, growth and profit against budget; develop and implement a growth strategy and Business Plan with financial KPIs; enhance market position through marketing and business development
* Technical excellence: develop staff, training, mentoring, and work product quality; establish consistent proposals and report templates
* Lead collaboration: build networks with Ramboll Business Areas, Geographies, Service Lines and Sectors to best serve clients
* Recruitment and resourcing: manage national resource planning and lead recruitment to ensure a balanced set of competencies
* Foster innovation: promote new methodologies and tools to improve value, quality and efficiency
* Risk Management: implement governance, project management and compliance; follow Decision Gate processes
* Win Work: lead key client engagement and trusted-advisor relationships

About You
We will support your development from day one and have identified qualifications, skills, and capabilities that set you up for success. These include:
* Appropriate degree in environmental sciences, environmental engineering or related environmental discipline
* Master’s degree in an environmental discipline (advantageous)
* Relevant sector experience supporting corporate biodiversity and delivery of nature-based solutions in the UK and internationally
* Growth mindset with ability to drive revenue growth through expanding team and client relationships
* Track record in leadership and P&L management
* Strong business acumen and understanding of market trends
* Ability to identify skill needs and attract consulting talent
