We are extremely proud of the work we do, the people that work with us, and the training we offer. Thera East Anglia is looking for Support Workers to work at our short breaks and community support base, called Oaklands in Alpington (South Norwich). The state-of-the-art building will provide enjoyable and fun breaks for adults with a learning disability within the region as well as providing day support.
Oaklands includes two bedrooms for overnight stays, a sensory room with interactive floor, bathroom with LED light-changing spa bath, a wet room, and a spacious garden with a swing, summer house, and sunken trampoline. Our Support Workers play a vital role in helping the people we support and their families to enjoy short breaks and maintain their support networks. The right candidate should be a good problem solver and have a dynamic personality. They will work as part of a friendly and supportive team on a 2:1 basis as well as using their own initiative working 1:1 with people.
You will support people with a variety of tasks to ensure they enjoy their stay. Activities are varied and personalized to the individuals supported and include trips out as well as activities within the house. A day could include everything from taking a trip to the coast, shopping, or swimming. Your role will also include supporting people with personal care.
