Hiring: Construction Project Manager – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
Location: Home-based (with site visits as required)
We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage the construction phase of grid-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Site Monitoring & Inspections
* Oversee principal contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with programme, safety rules, and environmental regulations.
* Conduct regular site inspections and take corrective actions where needed.
* Manage site access and assist in resolving on-site issues promptly.
Reporting & Communication
* Act as the main liaison between client and contractor.
* Provide clear, professional weekly reports and maintain detailed project logs.
* Capture and document site progress with photos and videos for records and publicity.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Represent the client in project meetings with contractors, communities, and other stakeholders.
* Escalate key issues based on urgency and importance.
Requirements
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Site Management Safety Training Certificate (SMSTC) and CSCS card
* HNC Degree or equivalent in a construction-related discipline
* Project Management qualification or proven track record
* NEBOSH Occupational Health & Safety Certificate (or equivalent)
* First Aid certification
* Experience managing large-scale energy projects with multiple contractors
* Knowledge of planning and environmental regulations for energy infrastructure
* Experience with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) is an advantage
