Northern Adelaide Waste Management Authority (NAWMA) is a regional subsidiary formed under the Local Government Act (SA) 1999. Northern Adelaide Waste Management Authority (NAWMA) is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced persons for appointment to NAWMA’s Audit Committee as Independent Member (Chairperson).
The Committee, comprising two (1) NAWMA Board Directors, three (3) Independent Members and the NAWMA Chair as Ex-Officio, meets five (5) times per year and is established under Schedule 2 Part 2 Clause 30 of theLocal Government Act 1999.
The primary objective of the Audit Committee is to provide suggestions and recommendations to the NAWMA Board about actions in relation to financial governance and risk management.
A quarterly fee is payable to the Independent Member acting as Chairperson, as determined by the NAWMA Board.
Physical in person attendance at NAWMA Audit Committee Meetings is required, with meetings held at NAWMA's Administration Offices located in Edinburgh, South Australia.
Both Local Government and Waste Management industry expertise will be advantageous, but are not essential.
