As an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team working alongside consultants, you will be required to carry out pre and post-operative consultations, assessing the suitability of patients for treatment.
Responsibilities
- Carry out examinations that are associated with cataract surgery.
- Run acute and follow up clinics postsurgery for patients documenting findings in the electronic medical record systems.
- Provide health advice and support to patients attending the hospital.
- Provide first line clinical advice to patients and follow the appropriate means of referral to a medical practitioner if necessary.
- Ensure awareness of the uses, safety precautions and handling of equipment within the clinical competency framework.
- Ensure awareness of CQC policies and updates, attending all mandatory update courses.
