Could you use your leadership skills and experience to support Signals? The Chair will lead our board of nine trustees, ensuring that Signals is following correct governance and meeting its charitable duties.
What difference will you make? The Chair is a key role for Signals and it is hoped that the Chair can work with the Trustees and CEO to expand the reach of Signals.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for experience or interest in the sectors of education, art, digital and not for profit. Experience of planning and organising meetings. A keen sense of strategic purpose. Clear and strong inclusive leadership skills able to inspire and support everyone to participate on an equal footing. The ability to listen and engage effectively. Advocate - be able and willing to champion Signals work through personal networks, social media, and other channels. A strong personal commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. Be responsive, as a small charity, things sometimes arise that require the Chair to advise, support or give consent to. It is very helpful to have a Chair who is available and responsive.
What will you be doing?
We are looking for a volunteer Chair with experience or interest in the sectors of education, art, digital and not for profit. Signals is a registered charity and limited liability company based in Colchester, Essex, established 36 years ago. We specialise in filmmaking and digital arts for social, learning and creative outputs and work across the region but with a focus on Essex. We became an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) in 2023.
