Housekeeper – Private Estate (West Sussex) Our confidential client is seeking an experienced, discreet, and detail-oriented Housekeeper to support the smooth day-to-day running of a prestigious private household and estate in West Sussex. This is a key role within a professional domestic team, requiring high standards of presentation, organisation, and confidentiality. The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining an immaculate home environment and will work collaboratively with other household staff to ensure the comfort and wellbeing of the principals and their guests. Key Responsibilities Housekeeping & Household Care Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the residence. Daily and deep cleaning of all living areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, and staff areas. Laundry and wardrobe care, including washing, ironing, steaming, and garment organisation. Care for fine furnishings, antiques, artwork, and delicate surfaces. Set up rooms for principals and guests, ensuring comfort and attention to detail. Assist with table setting and light service when required. Monitor household supplies and report stock requirements. Organisation & Support Follow household procedures and contribute to the upkeep of the House Manual. Support other household staff as required to ensure smooth operations. Assist with preparation for family occasions and guest visits. Report maintenance issues promptly to the relevant team member. Health, Safety & Discretion Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times. Handle all information with absolute discretion and professionalism. Maintain a calm, respectful, and flexible approach within a private household setting. Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Housekeeper in a private household, luxury residence, or five-star hospitality environment. Exceptional attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider household team. Trustworthy, reliable, and discreet with a professional demeanour. Flexibility with working hours as required. Right to work in the UK; DBS check required.
